“Universities are motivated by impact and this is achieved through a wide variety of routes and mechanisms” – this is one of the key messages from the “MacMillan Report” (“University Knowledge Exchange (KE) Framework: good practice in technology transfer”). The report focuses on knowledge transfer as one route to impact. We will hear from a UK participant in the MacMillan Report and the views of KU Leuven, recently nominated “the Most Innovative University in Europe”. Which best practices make a difference? How do we view the whole “impact” discussion? What have we learned so far?
